Wilkonowski violin crafted in 1950; the top is of two pieces of spruce of narrow grain, joined at the center. The back is of one piece of maple of narrow, straight flame angling slightly downward from left to right. The ribs, neck, and scroll are of similar maple. The varnish is reddish-orange over a yellow ground. The violin is in good condition, with a treble side saddle crack and wing crack, and also bears the label of E.H. Sangster of Dallas, TX, who regraduated and rebarred the instrument in 1966. The violin comes with a case, two bows, and some used rosin; also included is an appraisal letter from a reputable company.
